Email Management: Adventures in User Acceptance
The next meeting of the Greater Cincinnati ARMA Chapter will be on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
PATRICK J. CUNNINGHAM, CRM, FAI, Director. Information Management, Collection & Preservation for Motorola, Inc, will be joining us again this year and speaking on Email Management: Adventures in User Acceptance. You may remember Patrick spoke with us last Spring on Cloud Computing issues. The January session will outline the critical factors in gaining user acceptance of email management systems and processes. The presenter will outline key considerations for gaining user acceptance based upon his experience with email management programs in several organizations. In addition, the presentation will outline the key user requirements that the presenter has found to be critical in gaining user acceptance.
Attendees of this session will: 1) Understand barriers to user acceptance of email management. 2) Understand techniques to gain user acceptance of new email management systems. 3) Articulate user requirements for email management systems.
Patrick’s responsibilities at Motorola include global records management, IT data privacy, and litigation and investigation support. Prior to joining Motorola in June of 2007, Pat worked in the field of records and information management in various management, strategy, and consulting roles for Hewitt Associates, Whittman-Hart, Household International, the Archdiocese of Chicago, and the Illinois State Archives. Pat has served on the Boards of ARMA International and the ARMA International Educational Foundation. Pat holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Quincy University in Quincy, IL and a Master of Arts degree in Public History from Loyola University of Chicago. Pat received his designation as a Certified Records Manager from the Institute of Certified Records Managers in July of 1992. He was named Fellow #43 by ARMA international in October of 2009 and, along with Jesse Wilkins, CRM, was also the winner of ARMA’s Britt Literary Award for 2008-2009
The meeting will be held at the Cincinnati Insurance Companies, 6200 South Gilmore Road, Cincinnati, OH. It includes lunch and starts at 11:30 a.m. The charge is $15 for members, $20 for non-members. DIRECTIONS: From I-71 and from I-75 - Take exit for I-275 westbound to exit 39, Fairfield/Forest Park. Bass Pro Shop is in the mall on the right side. Pass the mall to signal light. Cincinnati Insurance is the tallest building on the same side as the mall. The sign in front of the building reads Cincinnati Financial Corporation. Visitor parking is in front of the building.
