November 2009 Meeting Announcement

Records Management From an Archivist's Point of View

The next meeting of the Greater Cincinnati ARMA Chapter will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

 

Gillian Marsham Hill, the current ARMA, Great Lakes Region Manager, will be speaking on Records Management From an Archivist's Point of View.  She will be talking about the differences in emphasis she has made as an archivist, and something about the program she started in Greene County.

 

Ms. Hill has been with Greene County since 1996, and prior to that position, she served as a Records Management Specialist/Archivist at Sinclair Community College, in Dayton.  She has a BA and MA in History, plus Certificate in Archival and Historical Administration, from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.

 

In addition to her association with ARMA, Ms. Hill is a member of the Society of American Archivists; Midwest Archives Conference; Society of Ohio Archivists (Secretary); CARMA (County Archivists and Records Managers Association); Miami Valley Archives Roundtable; Greene County Historical Society; Yellow Springs Historical Society; Society of Archivists (UK); Records Management Society (UK) and the West Sussex Archives Society (UK). 

 

The meeting will be held at the Cincinnati Insurance Companies, 6200 South Gilmore Road, Cincinnati, OH. It includes lunch and starts at 11:30 a.m. The charge is $15 for members, $20 for non-members. DIRECTIONS:  From I-71 and from I-75 - Take exit for I-275 westbound to exit 39, Fairfield/Forest Park.  Bass Pro Shop is in the mall on the right side.  Pass the mall to signal light.  Cincinnati Insurance is the tallest building on the same side as the mall.  The sign in front of the building reads Cincinnati Financial Corporation.  Visitor parking is in front of the building.
